Camera Photography Workshop in Thanet (Beginner)

This 4-sessions beginner photography workshop is for any woman (non-binary/trans included) who has always wanted to pick up a camera but never really learned how to use it.

Dates: 05.04./19.04./03.05./17.05. We meet biweekly on Saturdays fom 3-5pm.

This biweekly course is not overly technical. With over 25 years of experience in documentary photography and portrait photography, I will narrow down the essential technical knowledge needed to use your camera as a tool for creativity and self-expression. This course includes a 1:1 photography session where we will go through your camera together, ensuring you fully understand its settings and how to use it confidently for documentary photography, portrait photography, or visual storytelling.

By the end of the course, you will feel confident and natural with your camera, using it to create powerful and engaging images while developing your visual style. Every week, we will focus on a topic (e.g., light, framing, perspectives) and you will receive an at-home photography exercise (approximately one hour).

What’s in it for you:

  •  1:1 session to get to know your own camera before the course starts
  • Learn technical tricks and tips to become confident
  • Explore visual language and framing to create engaging images
  • Discover the psychology of photography and how to connect emotionally with people through this amazing tool
  • Enjoy a safe and playful environment, where we‘ll learn and create together
  • 4 sessions of photography input and knowledge (2 hours each)
  • Lots of fun!

Location: The Bakehouse, St. Mildreds Road, Westgate (in the alleyway next to the Carlton Cinema)

Dates: 05.04./19.04./03.05./17.05. We meet biweekly on Saturdays fom 3-5pm.
